This weekend I will be a part of the panel speaking on Getting the Most out of Your Experts at the 40th Lake Louise Refresher Course. My topic will be the use of experts in out of court resolution of family law matters. I will be looking at other resources available to individuals going through separation to assist in their negotiations, besides the family lawyer. I will be speaking on how other experts, including mediators, certified divorce financial advisors, and others can assist both the client and the family lawyer on solving the client’s legal and non-legal problems arising on separation.
Other topics at the course include a new lexicon for spousal support, income tax issues, and a wide variety of up to date information needed for family lawyers to stay current.
